Project Goal:
Using food as a landscape, incorporate photos of real people into imagery to create the illusion of people climbing and interacting with landscape surface.

Project Directions:
  • Take photographs of food on a plate.  Using the Ant View for drama, get up close and low to subject matter. Shoot photos at the highest resolution that your camera device will support.  *Consider controlled lighting for additional dramatic effects.
  • Take photographs of people.  Study your food landscape photos and conceptualize how your subjects should pose to better interact with food landscape. *Try to find uncomplicated background when photographing people.  This will make it easier when making selections in Photoshop. *If you were using controlled lighting when photographing food, continue to use the same light source when photographing people for consistency.
  • Import photographic information into Adobe Photoshop. Consider a variety of Photoshop tools to complete your collage: Color manage: Hue & Saturation, Levels. Make selections: Lasso, Magic Wand. Blend: Clone Stamp Tool, Healing Brush, Spot Healing Brush. Play with Focus / Depth of Field: Filter > Lens Blur.
  • Save work throughout creative process as a ".psd".
