Multi Media Self Portrait

Objective:  Create an expressive representation of your self portrait with a variety of materials.

Directions:

1. Obtain a clear photograph from your phone or the internet. It could be a portrait, or you could venture off to other subject matter??
2. Create a new document in Photoshop that is 11x15", 72 dpi. and import into Photoshop.
3. Once imported go: Image > Adjustment > Threshold.  Adjust this setting until satisfied with end result and click save.
4. Crop the image into 2 equal portions and print out separately. Once printed out, tape together to create a single image.
5. Place tracing paper over the printout and trace out the image.
6. Transfer the graphic from tracing paper over to media paper used for this project.
7. Once the line work has been placed on the media paper, fill in the shapes with India Ink and Brush.
8. Apply watercolor paint as needed over and around India Ink image.
9. Select a variety of colored magazine paper and apply to image as needed.
10. Use tracing paper to create registrations in order to get cut out shapes to relate to painted shapes on paper surface.
